August 16, 2010, Montana Apricots

This is the painting created today.  Most people here don’t realize we have apricot trees growing at a few places in town.  Being at a high elevation in the Rocky Mountains, it is a bit of a surprise.  There is an apricot tree outside my kitchen window.  Often the late spring snow storms freeze the apricot blossoms, so there are usually not many fruit to pick.  Yesterday I found these four apricots outside my north door.

The painting is oil on canvas, 3 1/2 inches by 1 3/4 inches.
