This is the painting created today. The first birdhouse I put up over 20 years ago is in a secluded corner. The wood of the entry is chipped away by many years of nesting birds. Around the birdhouse are the red-brown leaves of the chokecherry tree and a thick hedge of lilacs.
The shadows of twigs and branches made an interesting pattern cast over the birdhouse today. You can see the shaft of a blade of dry grass casting a shadow out of the birdhouse door, left behind by a long gone occupant. aliceflynn.com
