This is the painting created today. Years ago, a neighbor had this old birdbath languishing in their back yard. It is cast concrete, stressed and chipped, but I think it is lovely. They gave it to me and I placed it in an aspen grove I planted in about 1988. The aspens have grown to be huge, and around them the birds have “planted” chokecherry, mountain ash, and many other plants. The birdbath is centered in a shady spot in the middle of the grove.
The chokecherry has colorful red leaves, and the many leaves and textures of the plants around the birdbath reflect in its clear water.
The painting is oil on canvas, 3 inches by 3 inches. Click on the image to see a closer view.
