Mothers and Sons

Mothers and Sons

My son grew up without my parents in his life, as they were killed in a car accident when I was young.  He knew them only from the old photos we have in our home.  He would ask me, “Mom, when are you going to do a painting of me with my grandma?”

The opportunity arose to do an editorial illustration of how sons can play their mothers like a violin.  The result was this painting of my son with my mother.
