The day has been cold, rainy and windy, but these four male Western tanagers have persisted at the bird feeders. There are also several female tanagers, some chickadees and sparrows, as well as a grackle and a flicker at the feeders at times today.
As my laptop faces this window on the bird feeders, I have constant entertainment from these feathered friends who spar over who gets the seeds, who gets the suet feeders, who has the best perch.
Here is a close up of the guys dominating the feeders today. You can also see the purple lilac flowers beginning to bloom in the background.
