In August, we have many rainbows and double rainbows in the eastern sky above Bozeman, Montana. They usually arc across from the Bridger Mountains to the canyon east of town.
Double rainbows are especially brilliant when they appear at sunset, as they did when I took this shot.
The alpenglow lit up the tops of trees in town as the sun was setting a couple of days ago. I stepped out into my front yard and snapped this photo of the sky above my neighborhood. There is no photoshopping done on this snapshot! Amazing, but the colors were really even more brilliant than this photo could capture.
Nature is always an inspiration for me.
